J.C. Brager
Jim Brager, born in 1938, grew up in a small community east of Camrose, Alberta. His interest in art began in a one room country school house where he occasionally did chalk drawings on the blackboard. This was his only artistic endeavor until many years later. After high school, Jim began working for his father in his (dad's) trucking firm. Jim drove a truck for about four years then he became a dispatcher in the Ready Mix concerte division of the business.
In 1971 Jim graduated from the Alberta College of Art in Calgary. He was hired by a Saskatoon printing firm where he worked as a commercial artist for three years. Jim also spent a few years with Saskatoon's daily newspaper, the Star Phoenix.
Brager returned to his home town of Camrose with his wife and two sons in 1976. he then started his own business - J.B. Graphic Design Studio, and later opened Paulson Street Art Gallery. Several years later he closed the gallery and built his home studio to devote more time to painting.

This occurred in 1986 when Prince Harold and Princess Sonja had a brief stop in Camrose when on their way to Expo 86 in Vancouver. They became King and Queen of Norway when Harold's father died in 1989.
